Like, it seems, every year, we have much to be thankful for, as we approach this excellent American holiday.
We are very fortunate - blessed, even - to have family and friends with which to share Thanksgiving. We'll be spending the holiday with Carolyn's family this year. Carolyn's three sisters, all spouses, and all children (eight of them) plus Carolyn's parents will be spending most of the week together. We're going to take this opportunity to get a large family portrait taken - I'll post it here when we get it, assuming that any picture with me in it qualifies as web-worthy.
We are thankful for our health and the health of our children, and the health of our extended family.
We are thankful to live in a nation that is at war, but that is relatively peaceful at home. We are especially thankful for the service of of all the members of our armed forces, even if we view some of their present deployments and unnecessary folly by the Bush administration.
We are grateful for friends and neighbors, who enrich our lives in ways great and small.
On the eve of this great American holiday, we'd also like to offer all of you a happy, healthy and spectacular Thanksgiving, 2005.
